JUDGING - EVENTING

I am excited now to be an FEI Candidate Judge and invited to be a judge and ground jurist at One and Three Day Events.  Having retired as an international Three Day Event rider, I am thrilled still to be participating in the sport of Eventing – but now as a judge.  My competitive experience informs much of my judging, and I therefore feel I can relate to riders’ issues, such as the fairness of the overall test, consistency in marking and dealing fairly with riders’ issues. So far, I have judged a number of national One Day Events of all levels as well as several CCIs and CICs.  I have judged at Houghton, Blair Castle and Weston Park CCIs, Knaptoft, Hutton-in-the-Forest CICs and I was President at Osberton CCI 1*.  I still find it fascinating to see our great sport from the other side of the fence!  I never realized - when I was riding - how much effort and expertise is required and the number of unpaid volunteers involved. I am now an FEI Candidate Judge and List 3A Dressage Judge.  My goal this year is to attend and pass an International Judges Promotion Course and become an International FEI judge.  Being successful would allow me to judge at all levels of international Events.
