I have been giving my Workshops for 7 years now. I designed them as a way of helping riders to prepare for competition, address specific problems they might have encountered or help those seeking to make general progress and enjoyment with their horse.
I aim to make these days informative and fun. I hold them in groups, and depending on the subject there can be between 2 and 4 riders to a group. I carefully configure each group so that similar interest, abilities or issues learn together. Each rider has a morning and afternoon lesson with lunch in between. Moreover, I make every effort to involve every rider all through the day – so that each can learn from the others.

Cross-Country Workshops
My aim is to build your confidence, technique and enjoyment of jumping cross-country. This is a full day’s tuition with a maximum of 4 per group – selected to suit your level. Your day starts with an assessment, explanation and Cross-Country exercises over showjumps in the arena. Lunch is provided, during which we discuss any issues you may have – and ways to address them. In the afternoon, you practise over different cross-country fences, as well as sequences – selected specifically to suit you and your horse. I currently hold these at excellent facilities near Banbury which enable us to work over a large range of different sized fences.

Showjumping with Video Analysis Workshops
My aim is to see you jumping clear, confident rounds over showjumps. This is a full day’s tuition with high individual attention – just 2 per group. Your day starts with how to walk a course and how to warm up, followed by jumping a full course at your chosen height which will be videoed. Lunch is provided while we watch and analyze your videoed showjumping round. Your afternoon lesson is based on the assessment from the morning and is tailored specifically to suit you and your horse.

‘Seeing-a-Stride’ Workshops
My aim is to build your confidence as you approach and jump any kind of fence. This full day’s workshop cuts through the myths. In the morning, in maximum groups of 3, I explain theory and practice as you jump some simple routines starting with poles on the ground to improve your “eye” immediately. Lunch is provided. The afternoon continues at a pace entirely to suit you with your jumping different fences in the arena – and deals not only with getting it right, but how to cope when it goes wrong! This is a very good Workshop whatever level you are, and is especially beneficial for horses and riders who may be seeking to improve their confidence

| "How to beat the Judge!" Combined Training |
Ride a test of your choice and be judged - and videoed - in the morning. Then, over lunch, watch, analyze and understand your marks and what you need to do to improve them. In the afternoon, learn to make the most of your course-walk and warm-up. After jumping the course - set at your height - work on any issues that may show up.
