TEACHING

Teaching is my main activity.  I hold five different formats for teaching:

  • Private Lessons
  • Dual Lessons
  • Semi-Private Lessons
  • Workshops
  • Lecture Demos
Correct Training - Particularly Flat Work - leads to more confident Cross-Country and Showjumping rounds

Workshops

Workshops are teaching sessions suitable for riders of any level and ambition seeking to improve their flatwork, showjumping, cross-country or competition performance.

I have been giving my Workshops for 7 years now.  I designed them as a way of helping riders to prepare for competition, address specific problems they might have encountered or help those seeking to make general progress and enjoyment with their horse.

For more details, please click here.

Private Lessons

For riders seeking more concentrated tuition, I hold regular Private Lessons.  These are totally focussed on the needs of the rider and the horse and can focus on flatwork, test riding, showjumping, cross-country, competition technique, course jumping, problems or a combination of any of these.

Private Lessons have no fixed time – but are normally between 45 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the combination’s progress.  A Private Lesson is £50 plus the hire of the arena or cross-country course, if applicable.

Dual Lessons

I also offer Dual Lessons: these are where some of my pupils who travel long distances like to have two lessons with a break in between.  The first lesson is normally a flat one followed by a showjumping or cross-country lesson after that.  These can be tailored between flatwork, showjumping and cross-country, depending on needs.

Semi-Private Lessons

I am very happy to teach Semi-Private Lessons, involving a session with another rider, which can work really well when the combinations are of a similar standard.  As well as being fun, it is also more cost-effective: £35 per person.

Where I do my teaching

I hold my Workshops, Private Lessons and Semi-Private Lessons at two yards, in the Banbury area, and tend to spend most of a day at each yard, so giving several lessons on each visit.  The yards are:

Swalcliffe, near Banbury                    (How to find me - please click here)
Sorbrook House Farm, Horley           (How to find me - please click here)
